State-funded Travel Restrictions Lifted by SB 447

October 11, 2023

Governor Newsom signed SB 447 which ends the ban on state-funded travel to any of the 24 states that were listed on the California Attorney General's website. The bill was signed on September 13 and takes effect immediately, which means that all travel restrictions to those 24 states on the banned list have now been completely lifted. Business and Finance Bulletin G-28, Travel Regulations, will be revised to remove the AB 1887 language that had previously prohibited travel to the states listed on the California Attorney General’s website when using state fund sources.
