Travel and Entertainment Updates

November 5, 2019
Colleagues,

Iowa has been added to the list of states to which travel on state funds is prohibited
The California Attorney General has announced that Iowa has been added to the list of states to which travel expenses cannot be paid with California state funds. There are now 11 states with discriminatory laws that are the basis for this funding source restriction. The Frequently Asked Questions page on the UCOP site provides a full list of the states, background, a definition of state funds, and how to handle university paid travel to a funding-restricted state. Please contact travel@berkeley.edu with any questions.

Save the date for a TSA PreCheck event March 2 - 6, 2020
TSA PreCheck is back, due to popular request. From March 2-6, 2020 the Accounts Payable & Travel Office is offering at your convenience a week of interview appointments to complete the TSA PreCheck enrollment process on campus. TSA PreCheck saves you time and hassles with access to expedited security screening lanes at participating airports, and you don't need to remove liquids, shoes, laptops, belts and light jackets. This is an opportunity for UC Berkeley faculty, staff, students and their families who are US citizens or permanent residents to schedule an interview with TSA on campus. We'll send out links with more details including how to register and make an appointment in January 2020.

Attend a travel open house on Tuesday, November 12 and enter to win 2 United Airlines ticket vouchers
Attend a travel open house on Tuesday, November 12 and learn more about the many benefits of the UC system's travel program, Connexxus.
